Needham's Skimmer(Libellula needhami)

Fairly common but mostly restricted to the coastal counties in NC. Needham's Skimmer can be quite difficult to distinguish from Golden-winged Skimmer, which has a different pattern on the side of the thorax. Unfortunately, one cannot see the lateral thorax in the shot below.
