Great Plains Rat Snake (Pantherophis emoryi)

Similar to Corn Snakes, these non-venomous snakes tend to be a bit more tan/gray. This taxon has been treated differently many times over the years, but recent phylogenetic studies indicated it should be in the genus Pantherophis rather than Elaphe, and should be treated as species status. Formerly treated as Elaphe guttata.
