Note basal and cauline leaves present. Basal leaf bases are cordate but would be cuneate if this were P. paupercula.

The following four photos are from the same general area (calcaerous, serpentine soils) as the two photos above. Note the plants above are fairly tomentose while these are not. The leaf bases, however are similar in the two populations.
