It's interesting to note that this plant is in the same family as many of the vegetables and fruits that we eat (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers), but the family also contains many species of plants that produce highly toxic fruits, including this species, Carolina Horsenettle!

Flower color may be purple, pink, or white in this species.
