Fairly common statewide in North Carolina, White Goldenrod is often found growing along roadsides.

Common in the NC coastal plain in a variety of wet soil habitats.

Note many cauline leaves and hairy stems.

Uncommon in the NC mountains.

Statewide in NC, most common in dry sandy woods.

Crushing the leaves yields a mild licorice aroma.

Significantly Rare in NC, this prairie plant is only found in limey soils in a handful of counties.
