For the 2003 Celebration of Flight Centennial commemorating the Wright Brothers historic flight at Kitty Hawk, NC, 99 lifesize fiberglass horses were decorated by artists and adorned with aluminum aircraft wings. While a third were auctioned off, most still remain along the Outer Banks and have become an item of interest among tourists. Here are a few.
